Clare U21′s win All Ireland three-in-a-row
Clare achieved a remarkable on Saturday when they grabbed their third under 21 title on the trot. Winning back to back under-age titles is difficult, but three, is an amazing feat. Wexford, for their part, offered a serious opposition, which also augers well for the county in the coming years.
Both Clare and Wexford use performance analysis solutions from Avenir in the coaching systems, while Clare ‘lived coded’ their quarter final this year and are likely to build on that practice in the future.
Irish Women beat Slovakia
Sue Ronan and her squad go about their business quietly for the most part and they are consistently pushing their performances forward and improving their status in the world game, year on year.
On Saturday Stephanie Roche grabbed the winner and Sue offered her thoughts to FAI TV afterwards.
Unbeaten away in this campaign they head to Germany on Wednesday, with qualification still a possibility. Avenir wishes the entire squad, manager Sue Ronan and the analyst team of Gerard Dunne and Gary Seery the very best.
Rugby – Provinces All Win
All four provinces won at the weekend, with pride of place going to Connacht with their win against an Edinburgh side who had beaten Munster the previous weekend. Rugby can be a game of attrition with the entire squad being important. Performance Analysis is absolutely vital to success – particularly the highly technical aspects of play where there is a fine line between success and defeat.
Golf – Rory on the Cusp
Rory McIlroy is on the verge of a FedEx pot of gold, with the Ryder cup next up!
Avenir are working with Ulster Golf helping them produce the next generation of stars; recently we spent some time helping them to use SportsCode and iCoda on their iPads for their youth skills assessment programs.
This is an exciting time for the GUI and Avenir Sports and we are looking forward to helping them further streamline their processes.
